CCC Pit Stop #1 – Changing It Up

I could quote the beginning of the Faith of the Heart,” but I’m not that sadistic. I thought I set these posts up as a bit of a look into what’s going on with me and other random stuff. So, I’ll start with the big question: where the ____ have I been?

A compilation of the things I’ve been doing instead of blogging here… no, I’m not the cute redhead in that pic.

So, where have I been? Well, I did do quite a few posts on my old blog, Random Thoughts, I’ve been touring Ancient Greece in Assassin’s Creed: Oddysey (great game btw), and I have a girlfriend. Honestly, saying I have a girlfriend would be the best excuse. At least it’s a fun excuse. Add work, having a family farm, house work, and other things to the mix.

To be honest, I’ve been a little lazy with blogging in general. I’ve even been lazy with my old blog. I did do a lot more writing years ago, but I’ve lessened over time. I still like writing, though. There’s just so much to do, ya know? I’m still going to write, but it may be slower than I want it to be. I’ve also been re-thinking on how to write these too. I want to give enough detail but not too much. So, I’ll be trimming these down a bit. I’ll try this out with the next batch of events I talk about.

Current Events

I think I’ll give some thoughts on current events that are being released in comics here. It won’t be too detailed, but I do want to put these thoughts somewhere.

  • Heroes In Crisis – If there’s one event that’s been pretty mixed, it’s this one. For those who don’t know, DC’s HiC was basically a murder mystery event in the same vein Identity Crisis was. I only read the first issue and was pretty much turned off from it. Now that it’s finished, I will get around to talking about it, but not anytime soon.
  • War of the Realms – This is a Marvel event that just recently wrapped up. It’s also one that has been built up to over the years. It spun out of Jason Aaron’s Thor run and it was pretty much the endpoint for that book. I’ve been reading that run of Marvel Unlimited and I was pretty impressed with it as a whole. It’ll be a while before I get to this one, but I’ll check out how this all ended.
  • Event Leviathan – This DC event just started and I’m pretty interested in it. It’s helmed by Brian Michael Bendis, former Marvel writer and current Superman/Young Justice/”God Knows What Else” writer. It spun out of his Action Comics run and it’s still going right now. Basically, all of DC’s secret organizations are being hit by a new organization called Leviathan. Bendis built it up pretty well and I’m interested in seeing where it goes.
  • Doomsday Clock – I guess this counts as an event since the Watchmen and DC’s heroes are crossing over. I’m liking what we’ve gotten so far, but when is this thing gonna end? Seriously, I’m getting “Last Son” flashbacks again!
  • Infinity Wars – I have no clue what’s going with this Marvel event. All I know is that involves Infinity Stones… I think they’re calling them that now. Anyway, you know how that goes. I know Adam Warlock and Thanos are involved, but that’s it.
  • Age of X-Man – This was one X-Men event I considered checking out in stores. Basically, X-Man (the son of Cyclops from another universe… just roll with it) does something that transports most of the X-Men to another world. That’s all I kinda got from that Alpha issue. The X-men universe is changing so much you never know when to jump in. Heck, it’s changing again now that Johnathan Hickman’s writing them. Hmm… no wonder I stick to minis like that X-Men: Grand Design mini! It’s so much!

Well, that’s all I got for this little post. Next time, I’ll get to DC’s Invasion! crossover. Also, here’s a batch of things I will talk about in the coming months:

  • Power Rangers’ Shattered Grid
  • Marvel’s House of M
  • DC’s Millennium
  • Marvel’s Shadowland
  • Marvel’s Infinity War (the comic, not the movie)
  • DC’s Armageddon 2001
  • X-Men: Mutant Massacre

Well, I should be able to get those out at least. Until then, Peace, God Bless, and be careful out there. Don’t get too hot!
